Summary in Plain Speech

I am Ali ‘Arta’ Bahar. The website address is: https://bikeminder.org.

I don’t intend to track anyone, or to know who you are. Your off-line identity is no concern of mine.

The telescreen, uh, device you use to visit this site with, however, is a cesspool where you take your privacy to die.

Summary in Non-Plain Speech

Linking and embedding is done on this site, so external servers know about the visitor and will collect data; almost certainly they will cross-reference it with other data collected about the visitor, and may well share or sell the data, or both. And the WordPress software accesses the servers of its owner, Automattic–again informing them about me and the visitor. Any code that uses Javascript (or its many offsprings) will likely leak information; however, most of this site should be useable without it, I hope.

I must say, though, that, if you’re using an app to visit this site, I’d worry more about that than this site! (And your operating system. And then there may be your sub-CPU leaks! 😉 )

Cookies

I personally do not set any cookies.

The WordPress software I create this web site with might set a cookie or two; certainly two I’d known about were for log-ins and comments, neither of which I allow anyway! Other contents I link to, or embed, will set cookies–notably Youtube, and so Google.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, icons, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who I share your data with

I do not intend to share your data with anyone, but it will automatically happen as part of your usage of this web site and of the Internet in general.

How long I retain your data

I don’t know anything about you, unless if you email me. Emails will be kept for at least a decade. The web server does keep track of IP numbers and such, however.

What rights you have over your data

I don’t collect any personal data. Other data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
